Data Architect

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Data Modeling & Architecture: Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business requirements. Utilize dimensional, flattened, canonical, and domain-specific models for analytics and operations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver robust data solutions. Maintain detailed documentation including data models, flows, and dictionaries.
• Standards & Governance: Define and enforce data modeling standards and best practices. Establish metadata, data quality standards, and classification frameworks across domains.
• Data Mesh & Platform Design: Lead the creation of enterprise-grade data architectures, leveraging medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and data lakehouse concepts. Ensure consistency and interoperability across decentralized data products.
• Tools & Frameworks: Design and implement data models using Erwin Data Modeler or ER/Studio. Utilize Collibra or similar tools for data governance.
• Leadership & Guidance: Provide architectural guidance to domain teams, ensuring adherence to standards and facilitating efficient integration across systems.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in data architecture, modeling, and governance in complex, enterprise-scale environments.
• Strong expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
• Experience with medallion architecture, data lakehouse, and 3-layer architecture principles.
• Hands-on experience with Erwin, ER/Studio, or equivalent data modeling tools.
• Familiarity with Collibra or other data governance platforms.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud services and modern data engineering principles.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, canonical models, and data integration approaches.
• Excellent collaboration, documentation, and communication skills.
