Data Analytics Engineer Lead

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and business-oriented Data Analytics Engineer / BI Analyst with strong expertise in Power BI and Python, and a solid understanding of the aviation aftermarket domain. The role will focus on transforming complex operational, engineering, and supply-chain data into meaningful insights that support strategic and day-to-day decision-making. The ideal candidate will design scalable analytical solutions, automate data workflows, and deliver high-impact dashboards for business and operational leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to support aviation aftermarket operations such as maintenance, material planning, reliability, rentals, and customer support.

• Develop and maintain Python-based data pipelines and scripts for data extraction, cleansing, transformation, automation, and advanced analysis.

• Integrate and manage data from multiple sources including Excel files, databases, CSVs, SAP extracts, APIs, and operational systems.

• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and traceability of business-critical metrics.

• Work closely with business stakeholders (engineering, planning, supply chain, operations, and management) to understand requirements and translate them into analytical and reporting solutions.

• Standardize reporting frameworks, KPI definitions, and data models; establish best practices for visualization, performance, and usability.

• Support ad-hoc analysis, root-cause investigations, and trend analysis to drive continuous process improvements.

• Document data models, business logic, assumptions, and analytical workflows to support knowledge transfer and scalability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, performance optimization, and security concepts.

• Strong programming experience in Python (pandas, numpy, automation scripting, data processing).

• Solid understanding of data analytics concepts, data transformation techniques, and visualization principles.

• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).

• Ability to analyze large and complex datasets and communicate insights in a clear, business-focused manner.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and structured thinking skills.

• Effective communication skills with the ability to work seamlessly with both business users and technical teams.

Good to Have (Preferred):

• Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

• Experience with ETL frameworks, data pipelines, or workflow automation.

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or similar analytics ecosystems.

• Proven domain experience in aviation aftermarket, including MRO, material planning, reliability, fleet management, rentals, or engineering analytics.

• Experience in developing standardized dashboards, reusable templates, and scalable analytics solutions.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or automation roles (flexible for candidates with strong domain and technical expertise).
