Customs House Agent Operation Executive

Job Title: Customs House Agent (CHA) – Operation Executive Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu Company: Janaki Logistics Industry: Logistics and Supply Chain Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: Janaki Logistics is hiring a CHA Operation Executive to support and execute daily customs clearance activities. The ideal candidate will work closely with customs officials, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth processing of import and export documentation, cargo handling, and compliance with all customs-related regulations. Key Responsibilities: Handle day-to-day CHA operations including preparation and submission of Bills of Entry and Shipping Bills. Coordinate with freight forwarders, transporters, port officials, and customs authorities for clearance processes. Prepare and verify import/export documentation such as invoices, packing lists, and delivery orders. Monitor and track cargo movements to ensure timely clearance and delivery. Assist in resolving queries or objections raised by customs or port authorities. Liaise with clients to collect necessary documents and provide clearance updates. Maintain and update records of all customs transactions in compliance with audit requirements. Ensure timely filing and communication through ICEGATE and other digital platforms. Work in sync with internal departments including transportation and warehousing for cargo coordination. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field. 2–4 years of experience in CHA operations or customs clearance process. Good knowledge of Indian customs procedures, HS codes, and clearance protocols. Familiarity with ICEGATE, DGFT, and EDI filing procedures. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and basic logistics software tools.
