About The Opportunity

We operate in the Food & Agribusiness / FMCG sector, specialising in production, processing and distribution of premium basmati rice across domestic and export markets. This role sits in a high-growth commercial team focused on expanding retail, institutional and distributor channels across India.Role: Field Customer Relationship Manager (On-site, India) immediate travel readiness required.Role & Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow relationships with distributors, wholesalers, retail chains and institutional buyers across an assigned territory to achieve sales targets and market share goals.
  • Own territory planning and execution: route-to-market strategies, retailer coverage, merchandising, and promotional activation in coordination with Trade Marketing.
  • Develop and implement key account plans for high-potential customers to increase penetration, SKU distribution and repeat purchase rates.
  • Monitor field performance using CRM and weekly sales reports; forecast demand, manage orders, and ensure timely fulfilment and invoicing.
  • Resolve customer escalations proactively, implement retention actions, and gather market intelligence to inform product and pricing decisions.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, quality and marketing teams to ensure product availability, adherence to quality standards and effective in-market campaigns.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have
  • Proven experience in field sales and distributor management within FMCG or food commodities.
  • Strong track record in key account management and territory growth execution.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel for reporting and forecasting.
  • Ability to travel frequently and work on-site across assigned regions across India.
  • Customer-focused negotiation and problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with modern trade and institutional procurement cycles.
  • Exposure to trade marketing and in-store merchandising best practices.
