Job Description

Role & responsibilities Operate CT equipment, which produces cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs and tissue that are used to diagnose medical conditions. Preferred candidate profile To ensure that the patient is fit for CT Scan. • • To ensure the patient information recorded at the Reception is correct. • • Review if CT scan is the best option, check patient preparation requirement and ensure that the patient is fit for CT Scan. Only if everything is OK, proceed further for scan. • For female of child bearing age, ask LMP and record it in the consent form, conduct investigation only once the pregnancy is ruled out • Can give contrast but only under the supervision of Radiologist or Anesthetist • Maintain all records of CT Department • Perform CT Scan procedure, select appropriate protocol, exposure parameters, provide safety PPE to attendant if inside the gantry room. • Ensure that the qualities of images are good enough for reporting. • Ensure equipment cleaning and maintenance of equipment in working condition. • Ensure consent form is properly filled and signed • In case of any doubt consult the available Radiologist and can call the clinician for clarification • Perform CPR and provide first aid to patient / staff when required. • Provide training to the housekeeping staff on various aspect of patient handling. • Participate in equipment & system upgradation process. • Guide the junior CT Technicians in selection of sequences and scanning techniques.
