Job Description

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain sterilization equipment to ensure the effective sterilization of medical instruments and equipment

Perform daily quality checks on sterilization machines and document results in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations

Organize, package, and label instruments after sterilization to ensure readiness for medical procedures

Collaborate with healthcare staff to manage and fulfill sterilization requests promptly and efficiently

Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures

Keep accurate records of sterilization activities and inventory management

Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel

Participate in ongoing training and development sessions to stay current with best practices in sterilization and infection control

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; certification in sterile processing or a related field preferred

Proven experience in a Central Sterile Supply Department or similar environment

Strong understanding of sterilization techniques, equipment, and infection control protocols

Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare setting

Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with medical staff and other departments

Physical ability to handle the demands of the job, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects
