Job Description – CSSD Manager

Role Overview

The CSSD Manager will oversee all activities related to the cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and distribution of medical and surgical instruments. The role ensures compliance with sterilization standards, supports clinical departments, and maintains effective workflow within the Central Sterile Services Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the CSSD, ensuring timely processing and delivery of sterilized instruments.
• Supervise and train CSSD staff, create duty rosters, and monitor performance.
• Ensure compliance with sterilization protocols, infection control standards, and hospital policies.
• Oversee decontamination, packaging, sterilization (autoclave, plasma, ETO), and storage processes.
• Maintain accurate sterilization records, logs, and quality documentation.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting with technical teams.
• Monitor inventory of CSSD supplies and instruments, ensuring optimal stock levels.
• Work closely with OR, ICU, and other departments to meet instrument needs effectively.
• Conduct quality audits and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
• Promote a safe working environment and adherence to regulatory guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline (with CSSD/OT Dilpoma certifications preferred).
• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in CSSD operations, with supervisory or managerial exposure.
• Strong knowledge of sterilization processes, infection control, and medical instrument handling.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team-management skills.
• Ability to manage high-pressure situations and deliver consistent results.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹550,000.00 per year
