Job Description

Respond promptly during incident / accident / emergencies at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport & its near vicinity within the stipulated statutory response time as per International Civil Aviation Organization & Director General of Civil Aviation guidelines to provide fire fighting, rescue and first aid services to save life & property and restore normalcy at the earliest.
To take prompt and swift actions to mobilize ARFF resources when in watch tower controller duty during Aircraft Accident/ Incident, structural fires, other fires and incidents related to public health at GNIAL in accordance with Aerodrome Emergency Plan, Standard Operating Procedures and coordinate with Air Traffic Control, Incident Commander, Command Post and Airport Operations Control Centre for effective incident management. To lead the set of crew when in-charge of crash fire tender & to assist Sub Commander in rescue & firefighting operations at the Airport to save life & property and restore normalcy for business continuity.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Accountabilities Key Performance Indicators To test and ensure proper functioning of ARFF watch tower equipment s and communications systems. Serviceability status in ARFF watch tower check list. To perform the role of Rescue Commander during the aircraft accidents/incidents i.e.to be the team leader of the rescue team and to work unsupervised and make decisions when under pressure and during emergency situations involving aircraft emergencies, till the arrival of Sub Commander. Incident Report.

  • Leading the shift crew of crash fire tender.
  • Duty of Watch Room Controller.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Grade-I, Diploma in Aviation Fire or Graduate preferably with science from any recognized University.
  • JFO Course or equivalent from any Aviation academy. Valid Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) Driving License
  • Good knowledge in all ICAO Doc, DGCA CAR & NBC
  • Good knowledge in Computer.
  • Good communication/ presentation skills.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 6 years experience out of which 3 years as Lead Fire Fighter in aviation firefighting at Airport.
  • Should possess good communication skills to carry out Radio Telephony communication.
