Job Description

As an experienced professional in credit and underwriting within the financial services sector, you will play a crucial role in developing and managing the credit underwriting framework. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and implementing a comprehensive credit underwriting framework aligned with business goals, regulatory requirements, and market conditions for institutional underwriting and loans origination. - Actively overseeing credit risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies across various risks such as credit, operational, and compliance. - Keeping policies and frameworks updated to monitor and control a broad spectrum of risks. - Monitoring emerging credit risks and recommending proactive measures to address them effectively. Your role will also involve: - Managing risk for both retail and wholesale portfolios while ensuring compliance with organization-level credit underwriting/risk policies and procedures. - Collaborating with risk, compliance, and business teams to develop robust risk assessment tools and drive high-quality origination. - Monitoring portfolio performance, underwriting standards, stress testing, and expected credit loss forecasting to manage potential default risks effectively. - Leveraging data analytics, AI, and machine learning tools for enhanced data insights and more accurate credit risk assessment and mitigation strategies. - Leading and mentoring a high-performing risk management team while fostering a risk-aware culture across the organization. Qualifications required for this role include: - Graduate/Postgraduate/Professional qualification (e.g., MBA, CA, FRM) highly desirable. - Minimum 7-10 years of work experience in the financial services sector. - Experience in credit and underwriting in Financial Institutions group. - Good understanding of retail & wholesale lending, RBI guidelines, and credit underwriting of data thin customers. - Prior experience in underwriting retail loans across various asset classes. - Knowledge of Business Correspondent/Co-lending business would be beneficial. - Basic understanding of financial reports of financial institutions. To excel in this role, you should be data-driven, possess strong analytical skills, and be able to work effectively across cross-functional teams. Additionally, you should demonstrate leadership qualities, be proactive in addressing risks, and have a collaborative approach in driving business goals with partners and stakeholders.,
