Costing Engineer Interiors

As a Costing Engineer, your role involves preparing detailed project cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, managing budgets, and supporting the commercial team to ensure competitive and accurate pricing for interior fit-out and turnkey projects. You will coordinate with design, procurement, and execution teams to ensure costing aligns with project requirements. - **Estimate Preparation:** - Analyze drawings, BOQs, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates. - Perform take-offs for quantities based on architectural and MEP drawings. - **Rate Analysis:** - Develop and update unit rates for labor, material, and subcontracted works. - Source and validate supplier/subcontractor quotations. - **Budget Management:** - Prepare cost plans, pre-tender budgets, and value engineering options. - Monitor actual costs vs. budget during project execution and flag variances. - **Tendering Support:** - Assist in bid preparation, pricing of tenders, and creating financial submissions. - Liaise with vendors and subcontractors for pricing inputs. - **Documentation & Reporting:** - Maintain updated costing database for materials and services. - Generate regular cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and cost-to-complete statements. - **Team Coordination:** - Work closely with project managers, QS, procurement, and design teams. - Participate in project handover from pre-contract to execution stage. In addition, you should have strong knowledge of interior materials, finishes, and construction techniques, be proficient in MS Excel and AutoCAD, possess excellent analytical and numerical skills, be detail-oriented with strong documentation and communication abilities, and have familiarity with market rates and sourcing for civil, MEP, and interior works.
