Costing Engineer Interiors

The Costing Engineer is responsible for preparing detailed project cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, managing budgets, and supporting the commercial team to ensure competitive and accurate pricing for interior fit-out and turnkey projects. You will be coordinating with design, procurement, and execution teams to ensure costing aligns with project requirements. Your responsibilities will include analyzing drawings, BOQs, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates, and taking off quantities based on architectural and MEP drawings. You will develop and update unit rates for labor, material, and subcontracted works, as well as source and validate supplier/subcontractor quotations. Additionally, you will prepare cost plans, pre-tender budgets, and value engineering options, monitor actual costs vs. budget during project execution, and assist in bid preparation, pricing of tenders, and creating financial submissions. You will maintain an updated costing database for materials and services, generate regular cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and cost-to-complete statements. Moreover, you will work closely with project managers, QS, procurement, and design teams, and participate in project handover from pre-contract to execution stage. Key skills and competencies required for this role include a strong knowledge of interior materials, finishes, and construction techniques, proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD, excellent analytical and numerical skills, attention to detail, strong documentation and communication abilities, and familiarity with market rates and sourcing for civil, MEP, and interior works.
