Costing and Estimation Engineer

As a Costing and Estimation Engineer at Cleantech Industry Resources (CIR) located in Ahmedabad, you will be responsible for preparing detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQs), conducting cost analyses, and creating budgets for solar power projects. Your role will involve ensuring alignment with design criteria and industry standards, performing cost-benefit analyses, risk assessments, and variance analyses. You will collaborate with internal teams to support project proposals and decision-making, track price trends, contribute to price negotiations, and provide actionable insights to management for efficient project execution. **Core Responsibilities:** - Conduct detailed BOQ based costing and estimation exercises for small and large-scale ground-mounted and/or rooftop solar power plants. - Possess a deep understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil designs/systems for Solar PV Projects. - Familiarize yourself with detailed engineering, costing analysis, price trends, and engineering practices, providing regular reports to management. - Prepare BOQs for Prebid estimations, cost-benefit analysis for various project/design options, and support Project/BD and Sales teams. - Coordinate with internal departments/stakeholders such as Development, Engineering, Procurement, and Projects construction teams. - Analyze specifications and contractual language for Contract/Bid wise risk analysis and support price negotiations with detailed data and cost analysis. - Prepare budgets/cost estimations and variance analysis vis-a-vis actuals to support controlling functions. **Education Requirements:** - Bachelor's/master's in electrical engineering **Technical Skills and Experience:** - **Software Proficiency:** AutoCAD, MS Office - **Project Management:** Experience in managing design projects from conception to implementation, ability to coordinate with other engineers and stakeholders - **Renewable Energy Systems:** General understanding of IS/IEC codes and solar industry practices **Experience:** - 5+ years of experience in costing and estimation, focusing on solar plant estimations/budgeting and controlling. **Psychosocial Skills/Human Skills/Behavioural Skills:** - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Management experience is a plus. - Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas from concept to conclusion. - Technical understanding of clean energy business processes. - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with superiors, peers, partners, and other stakeholders. - Excellent interpersonal skills while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
