Responsibilities:

  • Review construction drawings, floor plans, and basic cost information.
  • Learn measurement units and how to calculate material quantities for different building systems.
  • Learn the fundamentals and background of cost segregation, including the purpose and benefits of performing such studies.
  • Help identify different parts of a building that may qualify for accelerated depreciation.
  • Perform simple tax depreciation calculations with guidance from senior team members.
  • Learn templates for both property purchase and new construction projects.
  • Learn tools and software commonly used in cost segregation work.
  • Prepare workpapers and schedules to support cost segregation reports.
  • Assist with report preparation and help present findings to staff, seniors, and managers.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
