Cost Engineer - Manufacturing Job in Bangalore

Position - Cost Engineer

Location - Peenya, Bangalore

• Develop detailed cost estimates and comprehensive budgets for engineering projects from initial concept/drawing through completion.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine material, labor, and equipment costs.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to inform project selection and strategy.
• Track and report project costs and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project spending against the established budget and prepare variance reports.
• Partner with the procurement team to evaluate supplier costs, analyze "should-cost" models (what an item should cost based on manufacturing data), and support negotiations for more favorable terms.
• Conduct post-project cost analysis to inform and improve future estimation processes.
• Ensure all financial aspects of projects adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and supply chain managers, to gather accurate cost data and align on financial objectives.
• Create and maintain databases of cost information, templates, and models. Utilize software and systems to streamline cost engineering processes, data analysis, and reporting.

Educational Qualification

• Engineering Graduate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Diploma holders with strong experience in manufacturing may also be considered.
• 3 to 5 Years of Experience.

Technical skills:

• Proficiency with cost estimation and project management software
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial modeling
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Proven experience in cost analysis, estimation, and financial management within a relevant industry.
