Cost Accountant

Role Summary:

Key Responsibilities

• Costing & Analysis

• Prepare detailed cost sheets for all manufacturing products and processes.
• Develop, maintain, and refine cost structures including BOMs (Bill of Materials), conversion costs, and overhead allocations.
• Conduct product-wise, line-wise, and plant-wise cost analysis.
• Perform variance analysis (standard vs actual) and highlight cost leakages.
• Provide management with accurate costing inputs for pricing and tender decisions.

• Collaboration with Manufacturing

• Work closely with production, procurement, and planning teams to capture accurate cost data.
• Partner with plant managers to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives.
• Support process optimization and waste reduction programs.
• Provide insights on capacity utilization, scrap control, and energy/labor efficiency.

• Reporting & MIS

• Generate weekly/monthly MIS reports on manufacturing costs, margins, and profitability.
• Present data-driven insights to management for decision-making.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Ensure accurate closing of monthly and yearly accounts with respect to cost allocations.

• Controls & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to costing standards and statutory compliance.
• Support internal and external audits with cost records and reconciliations.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of cost data in ERP/Zoho systems.

Tools & Systems

• ERP systems (ERPNext, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
• Zoho Books / Zoho Analytics.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, Power Query, Dashboards, Cost Modeling).
• MIS and reporting tools (Power BI/Tableau preferred).

Requirements

• CA Inter / CMA / MBA (Finance) / M.Com with

  3.5 years of cost accounting experience

  in a

  manufacturing setup

• Strong knowledge of standard costing, absorption costing, and variance analysis.
• Proven ability to work closely with plant leadership to drive cost efficiency.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
