Construction Project Manager

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced construction manager with a background in construction and project management within the Industrial segment to strengthen its Real Estate function. As a construction manager at Hitachi Energy, you will work closely with BU segments to understand Real Estate requirements, define project scopes, conduct risk assessments, prepare budgets, and establish timelines aligned with stakeholder needs. Additionally, you will be responsible for site selections, coordinating with external consultants, managing the design process, evaluating vendors, planning budgets, and reporting progress to key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree/diploma in Civil or Electrical/Mechanical engineering, along with 20+ years of experience in project management/construction management in the Industrial or Infrastructural segment. Experience in managing medium to large Industrial projects, including greenfield projects, is essential. The candidate should be willing to travel within the India region and be open to relocation as per business requirements. Proficiency in English, a high level of integrity, transparency, ownership, and the ability to work independently are also key qualifications. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with BU segments to understand Real Estate requirements and define project scopes. - Conduct risk assessments, prepare budgets, and establish timelines for project execution. - Coordinate site selections and work with external consultants to optimize Real Estate solutions. - Manage the design process, evaluate and appoint architects, and oversee engineering designs. - Evaluate vendors, manage the tendering process, and prepare techno-commercial evaluations. - Plan budgets, cost estimates, and financial estimates for capex budget planning and specific projects. - Report regularly on project progress to internal stakeholders and resolve any issues or delays. - Direct a multi-disciplinary team, oversee multiple projects, and ensure timely, on-budget completion. - Maintain high safety standards throughout project execution and mitigate project risks. - Ensure proper project closeout, verify contractors" invoices, and hand over project documents to internal customers. - Manage property leases and related approval documents for timely renewals or closeouts. Your Background: - Bachelor's or Master's degree/diploma in Civil or Electrical/Mechanical engineering. - 20+ years of project management/construction management experience in the Industrial or Infrastructural segment. - Experience with medium to large Industrial projects, including greenfield projects. - Willingness to travel within the India region and openness to relocation as per business requirements. - Proficiency in English language and high level of integrity, transparency, and ownership. - Self-responsible, quick learner, team player with reliability and accuracy.
