Identify appropriate sources and alternates for Components in addressing the obsolescence and achieving the Cost & Lead time targets.
Ensure RoHS/REACH compliance in components selection and solder process for all component designs.
Review and interpret all component data sheets and evaluate all components for various parameters related to the product applications.
Manage all communication with manufacturers and distributors/Suppliers for all the selected components and evaluate all results effectively.
Administer Engineering Change Request (ECR)s related to components thru ECR process and maintain log of all requests and assist to resolve same thru Engineering Change Note (ENC)/Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.
Analyze and develop solutions to resolve all issues associated with obsolete components and perform component level tests.
Identify and perform required tests to evaluate components, associated assemblies and analyze/report the failures, if any.
Document and provide support to the Obsolescence Management activities and perform tests to support qualification of the associated products.
