Compliance & Principal Officer (Payments Vertical)

Role Overview: As the Compliance Manager at Gandhinagar (GIFT City Office), your mission is to develop and own the entire compliance framework from ground zero. You will be responsible for navigating regulatory changes, embedding compliance in products, managing audits, and interfacing with regulators effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Regulatory Tracking & Implementation: - Monitor IFSCA updates and RBI, NPCI (UPI, BBPS, PA/PPI) regulations, and implement them across operations. - Translate circulars into actionable compliance tasks. - Proactively interact and participate with regulatory authorities. - Product & Process Governance: - Lead compliance for GIFT City PSP offerings, TPAP onboarding, and BBPS agent/institution operations. - Draft and maintain policies, SOPs, and training modules to ensure internal controls are audit-ready. - Audit & Reporting: - Support internal/regulatory audits, prepare compliance evidence, and ensure regulatory reporting (returns, STR, Ombudsman escalations). - Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) with regulators (IFSCA, RBI, NPCI) and manage compliance queries and escalations. - Risk Management: - Oversee fraud, AML, sanctions, and operational risk controls across GIFT City PSP, UPI, and BBPS. - Triage issues, escalate serious incidents, and respond effectively to regulator or auditor directives. - Cross-functional Engagement: - Partner with Product, Tech, Ops, and Legal teams to integrate compliance into system design and changes. - Engage in regulatory working groups, and act on industry guidance and peer practices. Qualifications: - MBA, CA, CS, LLB, or equivalent. - Professional certification(s) in compliance/regulatory risk is a plus. - Experience working in regulated financial hubs (e.g., GIFT City).
