Job Description

The Community Lead is responsible for building, nurturing, and managing Shaips global contributor community. The role focuses on developing strong engagement practices across digital channels, managing platform relationships, and ensuring a continuous flow of active, trained contributors ready for project execution.

The position requires strong communication skills, digital community management expertise, and the ability to create engaging experiences for global contributors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Community Growth & Management

  • Build and expand Shaips contributor community through platforms such as

    Discord, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and other social channels

    .
  • Drive onboarding of new contributors by managing communication, updates, and user guidance across all channels.
  • Respond to contributor questions, support issue resolution, and provide continuous interaction to maintain community activity.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the community through collaborations, online groups, and crowdsourcing forums.

2. Contributor Engagement & Activation

  • Develop and execute engagement activities such as contests, reward programs, challenges, communication updates, events, and learning opportunities.
  • Maintain high engagement levels by regularly interacting with contributors through announcements, reminders, and community posts.
  • Share project opportunities, instructions, sample tasks, and updates with contributors following internal guidelines.
  • Track contributor participation, feedback, and engagement trends to improve community health.

3. Platform Partnerships & External Communities

  • Manage relationships with global crowd-oriented platforms.
  • Evaluate new crowd platforms and external communities to diversify source markets and contributor skill sets.
  • Support integration and coordination between Shaip and external platforms for project requirements.
  • Maintain communication logs, outreach messages, and partner profiles for future engagements.

4. Social Media & Communication Activities

  • Prepare and publish communication posts for Discord, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other active channels.
  • Draft onboarding messages, engagement campaigns, contributor guidelines, and community announcements.
  • Ensure content is clear, actionable, and aligned with Shaips communication tone.
  • Support branding efforts by sharing relevant updates and contributor success stories across channels.

5. Operational Coordination & Reporting

  • Maintain daily and weekly trackers related to contributor growth, activity levels, and engagement metrics.
  • Coordinate internally with sourcing specialists, relationship managers, L&D, and delivery teams to support project readiness.
  • Share updates on contributor availability, skill categories, and potential gaps that may impact active or upcoming projects.
  • Support process improvements and automation initiatives related to community operations and contributor onboarding.

6. Contributor Readiness & Support

  • Work with the L&D team to ensure contributors complete training, follow processes, and understand project expectations.
  • Provide clarifications, instructions, and support to contributors before project launch.
  • Address contributor challenges, escalate issues when required, and ensure smooth flow of information.

Skills & Competencies Required

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage global audiences.
  • Experience managing digital communities (Discord, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc.).
  • Creativity in planning and executing engagement activities.
  • Ability to handle large groups and manage high-volume communication.
  • Comfort working with global contributors across different cultures and time zones.
  • Good organizational and reporting skills.
  • Experience in crowdsourcing, community operations, or BPO/AI data ecosystems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools, CRM systems, and outreach automation tools (preferred).

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; specialization in communications, marketing, operations, or related fields preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in community management, social media handling, crowdsourcing operations, or contributor engagement roles.
  • Experience working with large online communities or global user groups is an added advantage.
