Job Summary :

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Commodity Trader with at least 2 years of hands-on experience. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a trading book, executing trades (both physical and derivatives), and conducting in-depth market analysis to identify profitable opportunities. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of P&L generation, a strong understanding of risk management, and excellent quantitative skills.

Core Responsibilities :

• Trade Execution: Execute trades on physical and financial markets (futures, options, swaps) in line with the company's trading strategy and risk parameters.
• Market Analysis: Conduct rigorous analysis of supply and demand fundamentals, macroeconomic trends, weather patterns, and geopolitical events to forecast price movements and identify trading opportunities.
• Risk Management: Actively monitor and manage the risk exposure of your trading book. Implement hedging strategies to mitigate price, basis, and spread risk.
• P&L Responsibility: Take ownership of a trading book's profit and loss (P&L), making informed decisions to maximize profitability while adhering to risk limits.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key market participants, including brokers, suppliers, clients, and logistics partners.
• Logistics & Operations: Collaborate with the operations and logistics teams to ensure the smooth execution of physical contracts, including scheduling, shipping, and quality control.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on market conditions, trading positions, P&L, and risk exposure to senior management.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a commodity trading or trading-related role (e.g., assistant trader, market analyst).

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Agriculture, or a related quantitative field.
• Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with experience in financial modeling and statistical analysis.
• NISM Certificate - 8 Series
• Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential. Experience with trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal, Reuters Eikon, CQG) and market data analysis.
• Market Knowledge: A deep understanding of commodity markets, including derivatives (futures/options) and physical market logistics.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent decision-making ability in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
