Position Overview

As a Commis Chef, you will support the kitchen team in food preparation and execution. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about cooking, eager to learn, and willing to grow under the guidance of experienced chefs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist CDPs and Head Chef in food preparation across different sections (hot kitchen, cold kitchen, salad bar, desserts, etc.)
• Perform basic cooking tasks: cutting, chopping, grinding, mixing, marinating, etc.
• Follow the recipe and portion standards consistently
• Help in preparation of fruit-based dishes, smoothies, beverages, and salads
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area at all times
• Organize ingredients and utensils before and after operations (mise en place and clearance)
• Store ingredients properly with correct labeling and rotation (FIFO)
• Assist in plating and garnishing as instructed
• Clean kitchen equipment and tools after use
• Take part in staff training and follow kitchen SOPs

Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management (preferred but not mandatory)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen or café
• Willingness to learn and take directions from senior chefs
• Knowledge or interest in fruit-based dishes and healthy cuisine is a plus
• Good personal hygiene and understanding of basic food safety
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Willing to relocate or commute to Pala, Kerala
