As a Commis, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
- Assist in mise en place activities, ensuring all ingredients and equipment are prepared for service
- Prepare dishes according to established recipes and guidelines, maintaining consistency and quality
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety standards
- Follow proper food storage procedures and comply with HACCP guidelines
- Assist in inventory management and participate in monthly stock takes
- Support senior kitchen staff in various tasks as assigned
- Contribute to cross-departmental cooperation and maintain effective communication with all relevant areas
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new culinary techniques and recipes
- Work efficiently and economically, minimizing waste and maximizing resources
Qualifications
- Basic culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Culinary diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately
- Willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field
- Positive attitude and passion for food preparation
