Job Description

Food Preparation: Assisting with the preparation of ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and preparing sauces. Assisting Senior Chefs: Working under the guidance of more experienced chefs to prepare dishes and learn various cooking techniques. Maintaining Cleanliness: Ensuring the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas, are clean, sanitized, and organized. Food Safety: Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper food handling, storage, and waste disposal. Stock Management: Assisting with inventory control, receiving deliveries, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients. Plating and Presentation: Helping with plating and presenting dishes according to chef's instructions. Learning and Development: Actively seeking opportunities to learn new skills, techniques, and recipes from senior chefs. Specific Tasks: Washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables. Seasoning meats. Measuring and portioning ingredients. Cleaning and sanitizing workstations and equipment. Removing expired or spoiled food items. Assisting with the preparation of mise en place (ingredients prepared in advance). Monitoring and maintaining kitchen equipment. Skills and Qualifications: Basic culinary skills, including knife handling and understanding of cooking techniques. Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication and teamwork skills. Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
