Job Title : Commi 1 - Continental

Department : Production / Kitchen

Reports To: Sous Chef

Location: Khaleez Restaurant ,Tirur

Job Description:

To assist in the preparation and production of Continental dishes by following standard recipes, maintaining quality and hygiene standards, and supporting senior chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations in a multi-cuisine restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Production

  • Prepare Continental food items such as soups, sauces, grills, pasta, and starters as instructed by senior chefs.
  • Assist in daily mise-en-place and ensure readiness for service.
  • Follow standard recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines

Kitchen Operations Support

  • Support CDP and Sous Chef during service for timely food dispatch.
  • Ensure work station is organized, clean, and service-ready.
  • Assist in handling kitchen equipment properly.

Quality & Consistency

  • Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and presentation of dishes.
  • Report any quality issues to senior chefs immediately.
  • Ensure freshness of ingredients used.

Hygiene & Food Safety

  • Follow FSSAI, HACCP, and company hygiene standards strictly.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area, utensils, and equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and FIFO practices.

Teamwork & Learning

  • Work closely with kitchen team and support other sections when required.
  • Learn new techniques and recipes under guidance of senior chefs.
  • Follow instructions and maintain discipline in the kitchen.

Inventory & Wastage Control

  • Assist in minimizing food wastage.
  • Report stock shortages and assist in daily stock checks.
  • Use raw materials efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Diploma / Certification in Culinary Arts or Continental Cuisine
Experience: 2–4 years as Commis II / relevant kitchen experience
Preferred: Experience in multi-cuisine or high-volume restaurants
