Job SummaryThe CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, updating, and optimizing CNC programs for machining operations. This role ensures that high-quality parts are produced efficiently by programming CNC machines, selecting appropriate tooling, and collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and write CNC programs for mills, lathes, routers, and/or multi-axis machines. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications. Select appropriate tools, fixtures, speeds, and feeds to optimize machining performance. Perform first-piece setup verification and troubleshoot machining issues as needed. Optimize existing CNC programs to improve cycle time, quality, and tool life. Work with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel to ensure parts meet specifications. Maintain documentation including setup sheets, tool lists, and program archives. Ensure programs comply with safety and quality standards. Assist in machine calibration, maintenance, and process improvement initiatives. Use CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM, Esprit) to generate toolpaths.
