To operate, set, and program CNC machines (Turning / VMC / HMC as applicable) to manufacture precision auto components as per drawings, quality standards, and production targets. Key Responsibilities:1. CNC OperationOperate CNC Turning / VMC / HMC machines to produce precision auto components. Perform loading/unloading of components and ensure smooth production cycles. Monitor machining parameters and adjust offsets as required. Ensure first-piece approval before mass production. 2. CNC SettingSet up machines with required tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices. Perform tool presetting, tool offset entry, and job alignment. Validate machine setup through trial cuts and sample inspection. Minimize changeover time and ensure proper documentation of settings. 3. CNC ProgrammingCreate, edit, and optimize CNC programs (Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi or other relevant controls). Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and process sheets. Optimize cutting parameters to improve cycle time and tool life. Store and maintain program backup records. 4. Quality & InspectionUse measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Thread Gauge, and CMM (basic understanding). Ensure components meet dimensional and surface finish requirements. Record in-process inspection results as per quality check sheets. Escalate abnormalities and ensure corrective actions. 5. Maintenance & 5SPerform daily machine checks—coolant, lubrication, tool wear monitoring. Report breakdowns and support maintenance teams for quick resolution. Maintain 5S in the work area (cleanliness, tool organization, safety). 6. Documentation & ReportingMaintain production logs, tool life records, and program sheets. Adhere to ISO/IATF 16949 standards followed in auto component manufacturing. Report production achievement, scrap, and rework. Required Skills & Competencies:Strong knowledge of CNC programming (G-codes, M-codes). Ability to read engineering drawings & GD&T. Experience in tool selection, cutting parameters, and machining processes. Hands-on experience in auto component machining (shafts, flanges, housings, precision turned parts, etc.). Good understanding of process control, SPC, and quality systems. Analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation. Education & Experience:ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Machinist, Tool & Die, or equivalent. 2–6 years of experience as CNC Operator/Setter; at least 1–3 years programming experience. Experience in auto components manufacturing (Tier-1 / Tier-2 suppliers) preferred.
