We are seeking a skilled Shop Floor Fitter to join our CNC machine manufacturing team. The role involves mechanical assembly, component manufacturing, and precision fitting tasks for CNC machines. The ideal candidate will have experience in machine tool assembly and a strong focus on quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities and Duties

CNC Machine Assembly: Assemble CNC machines with precision, including installation of key components and alignment of moving parts
Component Manufacturing: Produce CNC machine components according to technical specifications with accuracy and consistency
Component Inspection: Inspect all manufactured components for quality, using appropriate measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
Linear Motion Fitting: Fit and align linear motion systems such as guide rails and bearings to ensure accurate movement
Gearbox Fitting: Install and align gearboxes and related drive systems to ensure proper mechanical integration
Inspection of Fitting: Conduct detailed inspection of assembled units to ensure correct alignment, secure attachment, and optimal function
Problem Identification and Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues during assembly and component production to maintain machine reliability and performance

Qualifications

Education:

ITI (Fitter) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)

Experience:

Minimum 2 years as a Machine Fitter (preferred)
Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment (preferred)

Certification:

ITI Fitter Trade Certification (preferred)

Skills Required

Hands-on expertise in mechanical fitting and alignment
Ability to read and interpret engineering and assembly drawings
Proficient in using hand tools and measurement instruments
Familiarity with linear motion systems, gearboxes, and drive assemblies
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Additional Requirements

Shift: Day Shift (preferred)
Travel: Willingness to travel up to 25% if required for machine installation or support
Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to [Your Factory Location]
