Job Description

Job Title:

Role summary

Responsible for installation, fitting, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and utilities in a tire/automotive component manufacturing environment, ensuring minimum breakdowns and safe, smooth plant operations.

Key responsibilities

Carry out fitting, installation, alignment and dismantling of mechanical assemblies, conveyors, presses, mixers, curing presses and utility equipment as per drawings and SOPs.
Perform routine, preventive and breakdown maintenance on production and utility machines; identify root causes and rectify mechanical issues to reduce downtime.
Inspect, adjust and replace worn-out parts (bearings, shafts, couplings, chains, belts, seals, valves, and hydraulic/pneumatic elements) using appropriate hand and power tools.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, job cards and maintenance checklists; record work done in maintenance logs and checklists.
Coordinate with production, electrical and maintenance teams during shutdowns, changeovers and equipment modifications.
Strictly follow safety procedures, LOTO, PPE usage and 5S standards in the work area.

Desired candidate profile

ITI / Diploma in
Fitter / Mechanical
2 to 7 years
handson experience as a fitter/maintenance

in the tire/rubber/automotive components industry Experience in the tire/rubber/automotivetryiExperiences an added advantage.

Good knowledge of mechanical maintenance of rotating equipment, hydraulics and pneumatics.
Ability to read basic engineering drawings and use measuring instruments
Willingness to work in shifts and attend breakdowns as required. randstad
