CMDB Manager

Key Responsibilities

Own the
end-to-end management of the CMDB
, including data quality, configuration item (CI) integrity, and lifecycle management.
Design and implement
CMDB governance, policies, and procedures
in alignment with ITIL framework.
Work with IT and business teams to ensure proper
discovery, classification, and relationships
of CIs across the IT environment.
Lead
data audits, reconciliation
, and
integration with discovery tools
(e.g., ServiceNow, BMC, SCCM).
Manage and maintain
CI standards, naming conventions
, and data dictionaries.
Provide regular reporting and dashboards on CMDB health and coverage.
Collaborate with ServiceNow/ITSM architects and stakeholders to enhance CMDB performance and reliability.
Support change, incident, and problem management processes through accurate CI relationships.
Lead a team of CMDB analysts and ensure continuous process improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

1015 years of IT experience, with at least
5+ years managing CMDB
in a large enterprise.
In-depth experience with
ITSM/ITIL processes
and Configuration Management best practices.
Strong hands-on experience with
ServiceNow CMDB
(or similar tools like BMC Remedy, HP UCMDB).
Knowledge of
discovery tools
, auto-discovery, and integration methods.
Excellent understanding of
infrastructure, applications, and service dependencies
.
Proven experience in
data governance, compliance
, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

ITIL v3 or ITIL 4 Foundation/Intermediate certification.
ServiceNow Administrator/CMDB certification.
Experience in CMDB design and integrations with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
