Your responsibilities as a cloud infrastructure architect encompass providing expert knowledge on cloud infrastructure and platform solutions architecture to drive the organization's cloud adoption goals. This includes translating cloud strategy and architecture into efficient, resilient, and secure technical implementations. Defining cloud infrastructure landing zones, regional subscriptions, and Availability Zones to ensure high availability, resiliency, and reliability of infrastructure and applications is also a key responsibility. In addition to supporting cloud strategy and working on new cloud solutions, you will be involved in cloud migration projects, design and development of infrastructure artifacts, testing, implementation, and ongoing support preparation. Your role also entails designing, building, delivering, maintaining, and improving infrastructure solutions, including automation strategies such as IaC, configuration-as-code, release orchestration, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and collaborative DevOps practices. Researching and prototyping new tools and technologies, enhancing cloud platform capabilities, improving reliability, scalability, and efficiency, and providing subject matter expertise for all approved IaaS and PaaS services are integral parts of your responsibilities. Collaboration with security specialists in designing, implementing, and testing security controls is crucial to ensure alignment with security configuration guidance. As a cloud infrastructure architect, you are expected to actively participate in organizational learning practices, mentoring, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and planning and optimization activities. Your contributions to capacity, reliability, cost management, and performance engineering, as well as establishing FinOps practices for cloud cost management, scale adjustments, and environment management based on consumption, are critical for the success of cloud engineering competency.
