Clinical Instructor

Role & responsibilities

• Prepares, organizes, directs, conducts and supervises programs for orientation/ training and in-service education.
• Schedules classes, evaluates programs and adjusts as necessary and maintains current, accurate records of personnel attendance/ participation in educational programs.
• Participates in planning the staff development program and course outline in conformance with program objectives and accreditation standards.
• Lectures and gives classroom demonstration on subjects and illustrates using audiovisual equipment, models etc. Instructs and demonstrates the nursing care of patients in the nursing units.
• Observes and evaluates staff performance in actual nursing situations, and assists, guides and instructs as necessary.
• Prepares assignments and examinations to determine staff efficiency. Maintains all staff education records and prepare related reports.
• Complies with established nursing education policies, procedures and regulations as well as nursing service and hospital policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
• Planning and rendering of mandatory training programs.
• Identify and respond to the training needs of individuals and the service.
• Assess nurses clinical competencies and actively involve in privileging process.
• Review and update the existing nursing manual as and when required.
• Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Maintains department records, reports and files as required.
• Maintains professional knowledge by affiliating with professional and technical organizations and by participating in applicable continuing education programs, conferences, seminars and workshops.
• Attends meetings as required and participates on committee as directed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by the head of the nursing department.

Preferred candidate profile

Min 2 years of experience as a Nursing Educator/ Clinical Instructor in a any reputed accredited Hospital
