The shift pattern for this position Monday - Friday 0800 - 1600 / Tuesday - 0800 - 15.30 Medical equipment is used for medical treatment and diagnosis of patients in all areas of a hospital and beyond. Having fully functional and accurate medical equipment is essential for the safe diagnosis and treatment of patients, and it is the Medical Equipment Management service that is responsible for that equipment. The Medical Equipment Management service is a team of highly trained clinical engineer technologists who are experts on medical equipment. We work across ten hospital sites in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, managing the full life cycle of over 55,000 medical equipment devices, completing more than 60,000 jobs per year. You will work as part of a team of clinical engineer technologists based at Gartnavel General Hospital. You will have a permanent contract with a working week that is Monday to Friday. Every day is different, you could be called to theatre to help with an equipment failure one day, or the next day commissioning new medical equipment, to the next day performing planned maintenance in an out-patient clinic. You will work with a wide range of medical devices including specialist and highly complex equipment. You will receive both manufacturer and in-house specialist training, to develop your skills to enable you to commission, calibrate, performance assure and repair a wide range of specialist and highly complex equipment.
