Clinical Engineer - Specialist Practitioner Clinical Technologist

You will be part of the Medical Equipment Management service at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, working as a clinical engineer technologist in a team based at Gartnavel General Hospital. Your role will involve managing the full life cycle of over 55,000 medical equipment devices across ten hospital sites, ensuring they are fully functional and accurate for the safe diagnosis and treatment of patients. Your responsibilities will include: - Commissioning, calibrating, and performance assuring a wide range of specialist and highly complex medical equipment - Responding to equipment failures in various hospital areas, such as theatres, and performing planned maintenance in outpatient clinics - Working with a team to ensure the smooth operation of medical devices - Receiving both manufacturer and in-house specialist training to develop your skills To be successful in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and requirements: - Possess engineering or technology knowledge to SCQF Level 9 - Have post-graduate experience with medical equipment, such as attending manufacturers" technical courses - Demonstrate experience in the service, repair, and fault finding of a wide range of medical equipment - Understand the clinical, scientific, and engineering principles of various medical devices - Exhibit good organizational and communication skills As part of NHS Scotland, you will enjoy benefits such as a generous NHS pension scheme, 27 days of annual leave (increasing with service), 8 days of public holiday (pro rata), NHS discounts, and more.
