Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Civil & Structural - Consultant - Cooling Tower with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas sector for Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
The Role
- Must have exposure to
- Review of Soil investigation report and foundation design based on safe bearing capacity, groundwater table and seismic zone.
- Design of pile foundations and basin structure.
- Static and dynamic stability including buckling, natural frequency and wind-induced vibrations.
- Familiarity with cooling tower types (natural draft, induced draft) and their thermal performance.
- Must have sound working experience in using Indian, Euro and American standards for the works.
- Thorough experience in production of deliverables such as General arrangement drawings, Detail drawings & supporting Calculations.
- Should have experience on constructability review.
- Should have experience on Vendor drawing review and coordination with other disciplines.
- Exposure to American petroleum Industry & OISD requirement will be considered as added advantage.

The key objectives for this role are:
- Review of Cooling tower drawings and documents produced by the contractor.
- Attending internal meeting & review with client as Subject Matter Expert.
- Monitoring the project schedules/Quantities/Changes through timely review and comments
- Ensuring all deliverables comply with quality as per Wood /Client/Project/Code specifications & standards.
- Review of vendor drawings/other discipline drawings for adequacy of Civil & Structural design input requirements.
- Provide inputs on permit, constructability and best engineering practice requirement.

Expected:
BE / B.Tech Civil Engineering / ME / M.Tech Structural Engineering
Years of experience: 20 Yrs - 35 Yrs
Skills And Qualifications:
- Graduate Engineer with minimum 20 years of experience in handling Concrete Cooling Tower design, should be conversant with international codes and standards.
- Experience in PMC role handling Cooling Tower works independently is essential.
- Work exposure to 3D tools (PDS/PDMS/E3D/S3D) and design software such as Staad / SAP etc. required.
- Experience on Material selection, size and layout preparation is required.
- Hands on experience on proposal estimate including man hour estimate, Cost & Quantity estimate
- Communication and Management skills to handle Client & Construction contractor is required.
- Master’s degree in Structural engineering is preferred.
