Job Description

Lead the sourcing activities for assigned materials, components, specialized equipments, products, components and/or services in accordance with applicable specification and controls
Determine sourcing requirements through detailed discussions with relevant stakeholders from the Sales & Marketing, Inventory Management, Production Planning and Projects teams and plan for procurement of the same
Develop technical specifications for procurement of assigned materials, components, specialized equipments, products, components and/or services in consultation with the requisitioning teams
Monitor the usage patterns, lead time and other relevant parameters of assigned materials, components, specialized equipments, products, components and/or services and place sales order for future purchases in consultation with seniors
Constantly coordinate with Inventory Management, Stores and Logistics team to identify any issues in procurement and provide suggestions for resolution of the same; escalate the issue to seniors in a timely manner
Obtain quotations from vendors / suppliers for procurements requirements and recommend for rate contracts for fast moving items
Conduct and manage bidding and negotiations process and recommend awards of contracts to vendors and suppliers
Prepare Purchase Order in ERP system and process the sourcing activities
Monitor & report vendor performance and compliance with respect to contracted SLAs
Follow up with Finance & Accounts team to ensure that all vendor payments are processed as per timelines
Participate in building strong professional relationships with vendors to reduce overall material costs, enhance terms of association (credit period, delivery lead times, quantitative discounts, improved quality) and secure long term interests of the company
Responsible for ensuring compliance with all sourcing related documentation for specialized equipment/products as per the guidelines laid down by the department
Track supply market dynamics and global trends in the respective category of items being procured in the immediate and medium term
Ensure readiness to respond dynamically to changes in the projects / production plans and accordingly modify sourcing plans
Identify risks that can impact supplier delivery
Provide input and leverage knowledge of best industry practices during negotiation with vendors for minimization of costs without compromising quality and timely availability of equipment/ product
Coordinate with user departments regularly on issues related to sourcing and quality deviations
Coordinate with Quality Department and Vendors for any issuer pertaining to Quality, Rejection, Goods Returns
Participate in supplier audits periodically and report deviations from standard operating procedures for corrective action
Regularly update the MIS with data on procurement related activities in ERP
