Design Engineer

• Support Lead- Standard Products in concept realization for improvement in existing product designs
• Receive Design Change Request (DCR)/ Engineering Change Request(ECR) or Design Change Note (DCN)/ Engineering Change Note (ECN) from the manufacturing/project team and make necessary design or engineering changes for the product
• Submit revised design/engineering specifications to Lead- Standard Products for review; incorporate any subsequent changes as recommended by Lead- Standard Products
• Undertake manufacturing feasibility reports for revised product designs and submit results to Lead- Standard Products to be forwarded to the Manufacturing teams.
• Receive inputs from Manufacturing team, and discuss the suggestions with Lead- Standard Products to finalize the manufacturing drawings
• Support Lead- Standard Products in finalization of the design specifications, drawings and BOM for the new product under development.
• Support Lead - Standard products in implementing stage gate product development process.
• Identify outsourcing requirements for a design, submit the same to Lead- Standard Products for approval
• Support vendor activities such as
• Raising purchase requisitions,
• Support QC for inspection of components received from vendors.
• Coordinate with Support- Process & Validation in testing of products
• Work closely with the Manufacturing team for development of prototype and testing of the same
• Work closely with the Corporate Quality Assurance & Manufacturing Engineering team for obtaining quality approvals on the proposed product design- analyse inputs from the Corporate QA and ME team and present findings to Lead- Product Design application for discussion
• Conduct testing of standards products as per internal guidelines ; undertake analysis of results and highlight discrepancies, if any to Lead- Standard Products
• Ensure accurate documentation of all DCR/ECR and DCN/ECN, of copies of manufacturing drawings, and of inputs received from the Manufacturing team on the feasibility reports
• Ensure all development projects are updated in SAP Project Builder
• Look into customer complaints and utilize customer complaint data for future design- undertake root cause analysis ; submit report to Lead- Standard Products for review
• Undertake market research on potential areas of improvement in existing design, and widening the application
• Prepare timely MIS for the activities of the section and submit the same to Lead- Standard Products

• Support to marketing, Sales and projects in terms of selection of existing products

Preparation of ISO audit and maintaining data for the same
