Job Title: Chief Security Officer (CSO)

Location: Dayananda Sagar University, Bengaluru, Karnataka

Department: Administration & Security

Experience: Minimum 15+ years

Background Preferred: Retired Officer from Paramilitary Forces (e.g., CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, etc.)

Position Summary:

Chief Security Officer (CSO)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, plan, and coordinate all aspects of security operations across university campuses.
• Develop and implement campus security protocols, crisis management, and emergency response procedures.
• Supervise and train the internal security team and liaise with outsourced security agencies.
• Maintain vigilance over campus access points, ensure perimeter security, and monitor CCTV surveillance systems.
• Liaise with local police, fire departments, and other relevant government/security agencies as necessary.
• Conduct security audits, threat assessments, and risk analyses periodically.
• Handle situations involving student discipline, theft, vandalism, protests, and any unlawful activities with fairness and firmness.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to campus safety and security.
• Develop and maintain incident reporting systems and security documentation.
• Oversee the development of fire safety procedures and ensure availability and maintenance of firefighting equipment.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Retired Officer from Paramilitary Forces (e.g., CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, SSB) with the rank of at least

  Deputy Commandant

  or equivalent.
• Minimum

  15 years of service experience

  in the paramilitary forces, preferably with exposure to campus, industrial, or institutional security.
• Proven leadership and crisis management skills.
• Experience in handling security operations in an educational or large institutional setup is preferred.
