Job Description

Role Overview: As the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at VCMint, you will be the investing engine responsible for owning the funnel from sourcing, evaluation, diligence, execution, to portfolio support. Your role will involve crafting investment theses, building a high-quality deal pipeline, conducting rigorous sectoral and company-specific evaluations, orchestrating Legal Due Diligence (LDD) and Financial Due Diligence (FDD) with external partners, and activating the advisor network to support portfolio founders. Working closely with Aditya and Neelima, you will maintain a fast-paced, founder-friendly, and operationally sharp environment. Key Responsibilities: - Sourcing & Thesis - Build and maintain a quality deal pipeline across seed/early and later-stage deals. - Develop and refresh thematic investment theses in areas such as fintech, SaaS, consumer internet, logistics, and AI-enabled operations. - Utilize your network to discover non-obvious investment opportunities and represent VCMint at ecosystem events. - Host small-format founder circles in Hyderabad and beyond. - Evaluation & IC Prep - Conduct fast screens and deep dives on potential investments. - Build and audit financial models, scenario simulations, and exit pathways. - Draft clear Investment Memos with detailed theses, risks, mitigants, and decision checkpoints. - Prepare materials for Investment Committee reviews. - Diligence Leadership (LDD/FDD/Tech/Commercial) - Define diligence scope and manage external partners for LDD and FDD. - Coordinate data room requests, red-flag logs, and management Q&A. - Provide go/no-go recommendations with practical remedies and terms. - Transaction Execution - Support term sheet design, valuation rationale, and protections aligned with founder-friendly principles. - Coordinate with legal counsel on definitive documents and ensure smooth post-close processes. - Maintain accurate closing files and hand off to finance/operations for compliance. - Portfolio Support & Follow-ons - Onboard portfolio companies into VCMint's advisor network and provide targeted support in various areas. - Track portfolio health and prepare for follow-on investments. - Manage coinvestor communications and board/observer seats when relevant. Qualifications Required: - Background in founding, operating, or investing with deal evaluation experience. - Strong network with access to founders, angels, bankers, and operators, especially in India. - Analytical skills with a grasp of unit economics, market metrics, and path to profitability. - Hands-on experience with due diligence processes and structured writing. - Ability to hustle, take action, and communicate with high empathy.
