Job Description

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Roles & Responsibilities

1. Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives in the beverage sector.
  • Provide financial insights to support business growth, market expansion, and new product launches.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board on long-term business planning and investment decisions.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling specific to beverage production, distribution, and sales.
  • Conduct profitability analysis by product line, channel, and geography.
  • Monitor key financial metrics such as cost per unit, sales margins, and cash flow cycles.

3. Accounting & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
  • Maintain compliance with statutory regulations, FSSAI norms (where applicable), GST, excise duties, and other beverage industry-related taxation.
  • Establish robust internal controls and audit practices.

4. Cost & Inventory Management

  • Monitor raw material procurement costs (sugar, flavors, packaging, bottles, cans, etc.).
  • Implement systems to reduce wastage and improve efficiency in bottling/production units.
  • Optimize working capital, inventory turnover, and supply chain financing.

5. Fundraising & Investor Relations

  • Manage banking relationships, working capital facilities, and credit lines.
  • Evaluate and secure funding for expansion (new plants, distribution networks, or franchise models).
  • Present financial performance and growth strategies to investors, board members, and stakeholders.

6. Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks related to commodity price fluctuations, forex exposure, and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure adequate insurance coverage for plants, warehouses, and logistics.
  • Develop contingency plans for seasonal demand fluctuations and raw material shortages.

7. Team & Leadership

  • Lead and develop finance, accounts, and compliance teams.
  • Drive financial discipline across departments including procurement, production, marketing, and sales.
  • Implement ERP systems for real-time financial and operational monitoring.

8. Operational & Business Support

  • Work with production and operations teams to optimize unit economics.
  • Support marketing and sales with ROI analysis of campaigns and distribution strategies.
  • Drive cost efficiency in logistics and distribution networks.
