Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat

About the Role:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for all financial and strategic aspects of the company’s operations. The role involves managing accounting, finance, compliance, and banking for multiple EPC and infrastructure projects, ensuring profitability, transparency, and long-term financial stability. The ideal candidate will bring strong industry experience, leadership, and a process-oriented mindset to help institutionalize systems and financial discipline across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with the company’s business goals and project pipeline.
  • Advise the management on financial planning, capital structure, and investment decisions.
  • Drive profitability through strong project-level financial controls and resource optimization.
  • Oversee company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and fund management processes.

Accounting & Systems Implementation

  • Establish and maintain site-wise and project-wise accounting systems for accurate cost tracking and financial reporting.
  • Implement digital and systematic processes for expense control, material cost monitoring, and site-level data flow.
  • Supervise timely preparation of MIS reports, project profitability statements, and management dashboards.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, ledgers, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely closure of accounts and statutory audits.

Banking & Fund Management

  • Manage relationships with banks, NBFCs, and financial institutions for working capital limits, term loans, and project finance.
  • Handle credit facilities, bank guarantees, overdraft renewals, and documentation with efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure effective fund utilization, interest optimization, and liquidity management.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with Income Tax, GST, ROC, PF, ESIC, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors, consultants, and government departments for smooth statutory reporting.
  • Develop and enforce robust internal controls, risk management frameworks, and audit systems.

Cost Control & Performance Monitoring

  • Implement cost monitoring mechanisms across all project sites to prevent overruns and pilferage.
  • Review BOQs, project cost sheets, and progress-based expenditure against budgeted targets.
  • Track cash flow forecasts and project financial health regularly.
  • Ensure timely client billing, collection, and vendor payment cycles.

Team Building & Process Optimization

  • Lead and mentor the accounts and finance team at head office and project sites.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accuracy, accountability, and timeliness.
  • Drive adoption of ERP or integrated accounting tools for construction project management.
  • Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and directors to ensure financial alignment with operational priorities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (ICWA). MBA in Finance preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 10–15 years of experience in finance and accounting within an EPC, infrastructure, or construction contracting company.
  • Proven track record in project-based financial management, banking coordination, and system implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of project accounting, costing, fund flow management, and taxation.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
