Job Title: Tandoori Chef

Department: Kitchen / Food Production

Reports To: Executive Chef / Head Chef

Job Summary:

The Tandoori Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking authentic tandoori and North Indian dishes using a tandoor oven, ensuring excellent taste, quality, and presentation while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook tandoori items such as kebabs, naan, roti, and grilled dishes
• Operate and maintain the tandoor oven safely and efficiently
• Prepare marinades, masalas, and sauces as per standard recipes
• Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation
• Coordinate with kitchen and service staff for timely food service
• Maintain cleanliness of the tandoor area, kitchen equipment, and utensils
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and company standards
• Monitor raw materials and minimize food wastage
• Assist in stock control and ingredient requisitions

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of tandoori cooking techniques and North Indian cuisine
• Expertise in handling tandoor ovens and grilling methods
• Ability to work under pressure during peak hours
• Good time management and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and food quality

Qualifications & Experience:

• Certificate / Diploma in Culinary Arts or relevant kitchen experience
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Tandoori Chef
• Experience in hotel or restaurant kitchens preferred
