Job Description

As a Cook, your main duties will include: - Ensuring that all stocks are kept under optimum conditions. - Ensuring that all mis-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time. - Ensuring that all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity. - Ensuring that all dishes reach the hot plate or pass correctly garnished, the correct portion and size, presented on the prescribed serving dish in the prescribed manner. - Keeping your section clean and tidy at all times. - Providing the right training and optimum guidance to junior cooks and trainees. - Communicating any anticipated shortages promptly to the Sous chef or head chef. - Not allowing horseplay in your section and treating all staff under your control fairly and with courtesy. - Deputising in the Sous chef's absence and taking charge of the kitchen when directed to do so. - Attending training courses and seminars as and when required.
