As the Restaurant Kitchen Manager at Marriott International, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, and production of the restaurant kitchen. Your culinary talents will be showcased as you personally perform tasks while leading the staff and managing all food-related functions. Here's a breakdown of your key responsibilities and qualifications required for this role: **Role Overview:** You will be accountable for the quality, consistency, and production of the restaurant kitchen. Your culinary talents will be demonstrated through tasks you personally perform, leadership of the staff, and management of all food-related functions. Your role includes coordinating menus, purchasing, staffing, and food preparation for the property's restaurant. It is essential to work with the team to enhance guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operating budget. Additionally, you must ensure sanitation and food standards are met and develop and train the team for improved results. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop, design, or create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products for the restaurant. - Supervise restaurant kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures. - Maintain food preparation handling and correct storage standards. - Plan and manage food quantities and plating requirements for the restaurant. - Assist in developing daily and seasonal menu items. - Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation. - Lead shift teams while personally preparing food items and executing requests. - Manage all day-to-day operations of the restaurant kitchen. - Set and support achievement of kitchen goals including performance and budget goals. - Provide exceptional customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. - Manage day-to-day operations to meet customer expectations. - Identify developmental needs of others and provide coaching or mentoring. - Participate in training restaurant staff on menu items and preparation methods. - Manage employee progressive discipline procedures. - Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings. **Qualification Required:** - High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area; OR - 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major from an accredited university with 2 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
