Designation - CHECKER

A Checker ensures that all drawings/documents are accurate, error-free, and comply with standards before they are issued for construction, manufacturing, or client approval.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Drawing / Document Checking Review engineering drawings, models, or documents prepared by designers or drafters. Ensure all dimensions, tolerances, materials, and specifications are accurate. Verify drawings against project standards, client requirements, and applicable codes. Identify errors, omissions, or inconsistencies and mark corrections clearly.

2. Quality Control Maintain accuracy and quality of deliverables before submission. Cross-check calculations, layouts, and references. Ensure compliance with company drafting standards (layering, symbols, notations, etc.). Validate revisions are properly incorporated in the latest versions.

3. Coordination Communicate errors and corrections to designers/drafters. Coordinate with engineers and project managers to clarify technical issues. Ensure alignment between different disciplines (structural, electrical, mechanical, etc.).

4. Documentation Keep records of checked drawings, comments, and corrections. Prepare and maintain checklists for standard compliance. Sign-off or approve drawings/documents after corrections are completed.

5. Process Improvement Provide feedback to improve drafting/design practices. Mentor junior drafters or designers on common errors and standards. Help in updating and enforcing company checking procedures.
