The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing operations across all shifts. The role focuses on achieving daily production targets, driving operational excellence, maintaining quality standards, enabling new product launches, and building strong team capability while optimizing cost and waste.
1. Drive Daily Operational Excellence
- Ensure daily production plan adherence with 100% on-time dispatch compliance.
- Monitor and control operations through a production dashboard across all shifts.
- Conduct daily shop-floor checks to ensure machine readiness, Safety, manpower allocation, material availability and other resource availability
2.Production Efficiency & Cost Control
- Control and optimize production costs by maintaining effective cost management for all batch.
- Achieve notable improvement in production downtime compared to previous benchmarks.
- Maintain conversion cost as per Company P&L norms.
- Ensure raw material utilization efficiency with in allowed wastage as per BOM.
- Maintain batch cost variance within allotted production budget.
3. Waste & Loss Reduction
- Monitor and control below category-wise waste with in permissible limits:
- DW (Direct Waste) •P&P (Packing & Processing) •MS (Miscellaneous Scrap)
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize losses
4. Support New Product Development (NPD
- Support 100% of R&D trials and scale-up activities at Production units as per schedule and make sure the resource readiness in advance to achieve proper yield.
- Ensure 100% implementation of approved NPDs as per schedule.
- Train entire production team on NPD SOPs (100% coverage).
5.Team Management & Capability Building
- Maintain 100% skill matrix coverage across production manpower.
- Conduct daily shift huddles and shift handovers with full compliance.
- Ensure proper deployment of manpower and adherence to safety &
- GMP guidelines.
- Coach and mentor operators to improve technical and process capability.
- Maintain better ER (Employee Relations) climate in production site at all categories, for better work place
6. Compliance, Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to employee safety, production machine safety, food safety, quality, and statutory compliance at all times.
- Maintain accurate production records, safety reports, batch documents, downtime logs, and consumption reports.
- Drive SOP (standard operating procedure) compliance across all operations.
- Publish daily production reports and MIS dashboards
DESIRED CANDIDATES CHARACTERISTICS:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes & equipments related to food production
- Should be a people manager
- Knowledge of productivity improvement tools (5S, Kaizen, Lean basics, RCA, CAPA
- Team leadership and shop-floor management capability
- Ability to work in multi-shift operations
- Knowledge of NPD processes and SOP implementation
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 6 years of experience in manufacturing or production supervision (FMCG/Food preferred).
- Experience in managing shift operations and production teams.
- Exposure to cost control, manpower management, waste management, and process improvement
