About This Opportunity

UQ Skills are seeking passionate professionals and experienced Sustainability Educator to deliver our nationally recognised Workplace Sustainability and Sustainability Management programs.

In this role, you will empower students and industry professionals with the practical skills and knowledge to monitor and address environmental challenges across diverse workplaces. From reducing carbon emissions to implementing sustainable work practices and developing environmental management plans, your teaching will help shape a more sustainable future.

Flexible working arrangements make this casual position ideal for professionals balancing other commitments. Ongoing opportunities may be available depending on program needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Deliver engaging, hands-on training and assessment aligned with accredited sustainability qualifications, primarily online, complemented with onsite workshops.
• Equip learners with practical tools to reduce environmental impact in real-world settings.
• Develop and contextualise training materials to reflect current industry practices and legislation.
• Support students through mentoring, feedback, and progress tracking.
• Collaborate with industry and internal teams to ensure training remains relevant and impactful.

About You

• A qualification in sustainability, environmental science, or a related field (at or above the level being taught).
• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent) or a higher qualification in Adult Education.
• Recent industry experience in sustainability or environmental management.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
• Knowledge of WHS and sustainability practices in workplace settings.
• Ability to adapt training to meet diverse learner and industry needs.

The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks including, right to work in Australia and education checks.
