Job Description

Role Overview

Casting Specialist

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and perform aluminium and copper alloy casting operations
Ensure castings are free from defects, blowholes, shrinkage, and inclusions
Monitor melting, pouring, and solidification processes for quality compliance
Select and control appropriate moulds, dies, and core-making techniques
Maintain records of casting production and quality inspections
Collaborate with quality and machining teams to address casting-related issues
Provide technical input for improving casting methods and yields
Adhere to safety standards and foundry best practices

Required Qualifications

Diploma / B.Tech in Metallurgy, Foundry Technology, or Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of experience in non-ferrous casting (aluminium and copper alloys)
Strong knowledge of casting processes, metallurgy, and defect prevention
Hands-on experience with gravity die casting and sand casting methods
Ability to identify and troubleshoot casting defects effectively

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of alloy properties (LM6, LM9, LM25, bronze, brass, chromium copper, etc.)
Experience with heat treatment of aluminium alloys
Exposure to foundry quality standards and inspection methods
Familiarity with lean manufacturing in foundry operations
