Job Summary

The Cashier will be the face of the restaurant’s billing & payment operations — handling customer checkouts, maintaining accuracy in cash and electronic transactions, and ensuring a smooth and friendly guest experience. The role requires attention to detail, honesty, good communication, and familiarity with POS systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers at the point of checkout in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Record orders and process payments via cash, credit/debit cards, digital wallets, UPI, etc.
  • Issue receipts, give correct change, and balance the cash drawer.
  • Operate the POS / billing system accurately and efficiently.
  • Handle discounts, loyalty schemes, promotions, or coupons.
  • Reconcile daily sales, prepare end-of-day cash report, deposit cash as per policy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier station (counter, peripherals, signage).
  • Assist in resolving customer queries or billing disputes courteously.
  • Collaborate with floor / service staff, kitchen, and management to ensure billing reflects correct orders.
  • Monitor and minimize cash or billing discrepancies and alert management of any issues.
  • Comply with all financial, accounting, and internal control procedures.
  • Occasionally assist with other front‑of‑house duties as needed (e.g. packaging take-out orders, handling deliveries, etc.).

Qualifications & Skills

  • Secondary school diploma / high school completion (or equivalent).
  • Prior experience as a cashier, preferably in a restaurant, café or hospitality setup (1–2 years is common).
  • Proficiency with POS / billing software (or willingness to learn).
  • Basic numeracy / arithmetic skills; ability to handle cash accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, honesty, and integrity.
  • Good communication skills and a customer‑oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for long hours, and occasionally lift light loads (e.g. small cash box, receipts, etc.).
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, using billing software, etc.).

Working Conditions

  • Shift-based schedule (morning, evening, night as needed).
  • May require to stand for long durations, occasional bending, movement within restaurant floor.
  • Busy periods / peak hours will require agility and quick decision-making.
  • Uniform / dress code applies.
  • Compliance with food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹17,000.00 per month
