Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing Transactions

    : Scan items, handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, and ensure all payments are processed accurately.
  • Customer Service

    : Greet customers in a friendly and helpful manner, assist with inquiries, and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Handling Cash

    : Count and give change accurately, ensure that cash registers are balanced, and follow company policies regarding cash handling.
  • Maintaining the Checkout Area

    : Keep the cash register area clean and organized. Ensure all necessary materials (like bags, receipt paper, etc.) are stocked.
  • Managing Returns and Exchanges

    : Process returns and exchanges following store policy, ensuring proper documentation and customer satisfaction.
  • Upselling and Promoting

    : Suggest additional products or promotions to customers when appropriate.
  • Security Compliance

    : Adhere to store policies and procedures for security, including checking for potential fraudulent activities.
  • Reporting

    : Assist in completing end-of-day financial reports or register balancing as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Customer Service

    : Strong interpersonal skills to engage with customers in a positive manner.
  • Basic Math Skills

    : Ability to calculate totals, handle money, and give accurate change.
  • Attention to Detail

    : Ensure accuracy in processing transactions and handling cash.
  • Multitasking Ability

    : Capability to handle multiple tasks at once in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication

    : Good verbal communication skills to explain promotions, returns, or store policies.
  • POS System Proficiency

    : Experience with point-of-sale systems and basic technology is preferred.
  • Reliability

    : Dependable and trustworthy, with good time management skills.
  • Patience and Problem Solving

    : Ability to stay calm under pressure and resolve customer issues or complaints effectively.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some roles may require additional education or training).
  • Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
