Description
Carpenters work on building and repairing structures such as walls, floors, roofs, and furniture, using wood, metal, or other materials. They can work in residential, commercial, or industrial construction settings and are involved in a variety of tasks including framing, installing drywall, cabinetry, and flooring. Key Responsibilities: Framing & Construction: Build and assemble structures, such as walls, roofs, and doorframes. Installation of Fixtures: Install and repair windows, doors, and flooring. Reading Blueprints: Interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, or technical drawings. Cutting & Shaping Materials: Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials to fit design specifications. Repairs: Fix and restore furniture, windows, doors, and other wooden structures. Finishing & Detailing: Sand, finish, and polish wood surfaces to create a smooth and polished look. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including the proper use of equipment and protective gear. Collaboration: Work with other construction professionals (electricians, plumbers, etc.) to ensure projects meet specifications and are completed on schedule.
